Doug English, President

Doug is a former all-American defensive tackle at UT as well as an all-pro professional football player for the Detroit Lions. His career ended with a serious neck injury in 1985, and he has raised millions of dollars for spinal cord injury research since 1988. He is currently enjoying being a rancher along with his philanthropic service.

Jack Ranney, Vice President

Jack Ranney joined the Lone Star Classic team in 1999. Jack and Suzy Ranney's son, Carleton, benefited from research the Lone Star Classic helped fund when Carleton was injured in 1997. Jack is a Conservation Coordinator with the Lower Colorado River Authority.

Laura Peck, Secretary

Laura has been involved with the Lone Star Classic team since she moved to Austin in 1995 and currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors. Laura owns her own accounting business and in her spare time she chases around her two children. Laura and her husband Dave are both heavily involved in the behind the scenes organization of the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation.

Steve Bartholomew

Steve Bartholomew is a co-founder of Main Street Homes. From its corporate offices in Austin, Main Street Homes builds and sells single-family residential homes in two dozen communities in Austin, San Antonio, and College Station. Over the years, Steve and his wife Michelle have devoted boundless energy and many hours helping a variety of charitable organizations achieve their goals. Steve's practical and successful experience in business and philanthropic pursuits make him an extremely valuable advocate and board member.

Tom Lange

Tom moved to Austin in 1993 and soon joined the Lone Star Classic team. He's chaired several committees and helped launch the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation. Tom is President of Bozman & Associates, Inc.

Kelly Sharp

Kelly has been involved with the Lone Star Classic and has been instrumental in cultivating relationships with rehabilitation centers. Kelly is temporarily retired from a successful sales career and is currently a full-time mom.

Kent Waldrep

Kent's been doing this longer than anyone. He organized the American Paralysis Association (now the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation) in 1982. In 1985 he left the APA and founded the Kent Waldrep National Paralysis Foundation.

Mike Haynes, Executive Director

Mike Haynes became Executive Director in August 2006. He is a certified Health Fitness instructor and has more than twenty years of personal and professional experience dealing with individuals with spinal cord injuries. Mike currently serves on the Austin Mayor's Fitness Council and the Governor's Advisory Council on Physical Fitness.
