One of Austin's best known annual events, Bill & Gail Engvall's  31st Annual Lone Star Classic is a celebrity golf tournament that has supported charitable organizations since 1979. After 31 years of wonderful fundraising success, Bill & Gail's tournament can also boast the creation of friendships, marriages, business ventures and many long lasting relationships. A dedicated steering committee of Austinites is working hard to make the 2010 tournament -- the 31st annual Lone Star Classic -- the best ever.

Please join the Engvalls and the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation as we celebrate the 31st Annual Lone Star Classic at Onion Creek and the Four Seasons on Thursday, April 8 and Friday, April 9, 2010.  All the money we raise will support the activities of the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation, who are committed to finding the cure for paralysis and helping our friends who are “Getting Ready to Walk.”

We’ll be back at the beautiful Onion Creek Club, founding site of the Senior PGA Tour – and will be headquartered at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel. We’ll have our usual six-man scramble on Friday and the Carlyn Nelson Awards Banquet and Comedy Show on Friday night. And, as usual, we’ll start with the famous pre-party (including karaoke) on Thursday night at the expanded El Arroyo. Thanks again Clay McPhail!

For out-of-town guests or friends who want to party late, we reserved blocks of rooms at the Four Seasons for Thursday and Friday nights. Rooms at the Four Seasons (800-332-3442) or locally (512-478-4500) are available at $270 for city view or $295 for lake view.  These rates are available until March 8, 2010.

Please support this important cause as a golfer, a sponsor, or a party-goer, with as much of a donation as you feel you can make. Remember, when you purchase a golf spot, you automatically receive two tickets to all parties. If you would like to know about other opportunities, please call Mike Haynes at 512- 673-7823.

Thanks so much for helping us with our efforts to cure paralysis – and having some fun in the process!
